What about cut and paste, altering details, it's not unheard of?

I kind of feel like you do. I won't even tell people my religion and it's an extremely common one. I don't tell people my political party affiliation or my sexual preference or my marital status, either. Every one who needs to know already does--plus some folks in the government probably:)

I don't understand why anyone would go to the trouble of making up a Yahoo profile/360 and NOT put the true information on it. I ask you...what is anyone going to do with that information anyway? The information I put on my profile is nothing more than anyone could glean from just talking with me. They don't have my social security number...or my driver's license. Nor do they have my home address or my last name. The type of music I like or the TV shows I watch are also nothing of any major concern. If I thought anyone could use the information for no good purpose I wouldn't have posted it. No risk at all to be honest.

well... its just a way for people to interact with the world.. like myspace or facebook.

when the internet was first out, all you could do was read articles and go to webpages... but now with web 2.0, its like haveing your very own webpage.

its for friends and people to meet people.

it depends on people and what they think... its not like they are posting their social security number and banking info.

good question
