I think that there is something shady about the whole thing. There are too many nuances. The police need to further investigate and question this kid. It sounds strange, but maybe he liked living with this guy. He got to do whatever he wanted, and didn't have to go to school. Whatever the case may be, someone needs to deeply investigate. It is the most disturbing kidnapping case I have heard in my time on this earth.

It is very strange. I don't think anyone in his situation would. But, not having ever experienced being kidnapped, we don't know.
WHY didn't the other residents of the apartment complex notice this kid NEVER went to school??
WHAT did he tell his friends about his living situation??
There are too many unanswered questions. Then they said when they were found, both boys were there alone. They could have left but they were "just there".
I am going to watch Nancy Grace on CNN. If anyone gets to the truth, she will. I will report back.............

probably a combination of things. The kid was in a non familiar town, didn't know anyone and likely isolated for a significant period of time in the beginning. I imagine the kidnapper slowly exposed him to others as to gauge his reactions/ propensity for flight. After so many years though, I had the same thought.

Maybe he was in love. Hey, dont rule anything out. The kid was free to come and go from the house as he pleased. He would ride around the neighborhood on his bike and go to his friends house. Now why couldnt he have picked up a phone and called the cops?

I do not buy the theory that he failed to return home because he was threatened - that doesn't jive with his freedom.
I suspect that life at home wasn't that great and neither was life at his School.

The reason he did not try to escape is that he was threathened, that if he tried to escape his ninetendo would be taken away.
