As we all know, both are written by Homer....the odyssey was written in a way that it spoke of the glorious return of Odysseus to his kingdom in Ithaca, and the Iliad spoke of the Trojan Wars....naturally, the Iliad is a much longer story, and more in depth...it doesn't just tell one story, but a mixture of many stories, to complete the one story called the Iliad. The Odyssey was just one main story. Back in the B.C. times, the Iliad was, to many Greeks and Macedonians, their bible. This makes the writing of the book to seem more complex, but really, its a simple theme, with a simple ending. In my opinion, the Odyssey is a bit harder to understand, the first time you read it.

It was a long time ago, but I loved them both. You really need to read them.
