Yes. Only because of Hurricane Katrina. Thats ok though. The Saints going to and wining the Super Bowl will create a lot of Revenue. Money which can be used to help pay back FEMA for the $100Million they used to rebuild the Super Dome. Which will help keep the rest of America from having to pay for it with a new Tax.

Im from New Orleans, and am a huge Saints fan. So, Im cheering for them for both reasons =)

NO, the Cowboys will always be Americas Team according to the media. The Media hypes up everything, I'm a Saints fan for 32 years now, hey if the media likes to say that that's fine, but here in New Orleans were just the Saints. The Saints are having a great year, but remember the team sold out every game before playing one game, so had they gone 3 & 13 we would still love'em.

I used to hate football until i got engaged to a wonderful saints fan 3 years ago. I am beginning to understand what a true football fan is. It is loving your team win or LOSE. do i think that the SAINTS are the new America's football team yes i do but not because of katrina. its because they finally have a coach that believes in them and does his job. Yes Katrina was a very horrible natural disaster and it did a lot of damage to the people as a whole in louisiana, and these people needed something to take their minds off of it and if it is only for a few hours on sunday watching the saints, that is a few hours that they can be proud of their BLESS YOU BOYS!!! I have grown to be a true SAINTS fan and i will be a fan for life no matter where i go or what i do.

Give us a break, if you don't want to hear about Katrina anymore stop bringing it up and admire the Saints for being a good football team and look at where they came from just a few short years ago.
that being said GEAUX SAINTS!!!!!!!!

You know that's an interesting question because I've been thinking the exact same thing ffor a while now. i am a cowboys fan but let's face it they can't do ****. I HATE sean payton for that onside kick call when they were up 35-17. but wow them winning must be a HUGE boost of encouragement for new orleans residents. i mean they had tons to worry about and then the saints kinda sucked and it has really given them something to cheer about instead of worry about thier financial problems. i think since most of peoples teams have been cut off from the glory for the year(sorry chargers fans) i think that america is cheering them on right now because of katrina and there sudden appearance in the nfl. think about it last year they barely won anything. and who can forget that game against the jags 2 years ago where they coulda gone to the playoffs and they had a 75 yard td and then missed the extr point that woulda sent them to the playoffs. it is thier time for a share of glory

I hate when a team gets labeled "America's Team." The last I checked, there were 32 NFL teams. Each one has its share of loyal fans.

What happened to New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina is horrible. That doesn't mean I have to automatically like a football team that I've always been rather indifferent towards because of it.

No. They are the NFL's feel good story of the year. Just think how great of a book or movie the Saint's story will make. The NFL will make sure that the Saint's at least get the NFC title, if not the Super Bowl.

There was no America's team to begin with.

I think they are a feel good story, but they are far from surpassing Dallas as America's team.

No. They may make it to the Superbowl, but thats where the charity ends.
