4 C's
Cut
Clarity
Carat
Color
Diamonds have grades and a scale chart to go by.
Colorless and flawless are nearly perfect and very expensive.
maybe $20,000. and up.
Just a few flaws and flaws not detected with the naked eye and good color is great. maybe $15,000.
Be sure to get certificate of authenticity and another appraisal.
Spots seen with the naked eye like black carbon spots and cloudy (with less sparkle) and or grey in color is less desirable.
Use a loop (magnifying eyepiece) to see flaws.
Try to pay wholesale not retail. Jewelry markup is quite a lot.
Antique jewelry dealers is a VERY good source.

totally depends on the 3 C's
Cut
Clarity
Cost
I would say that a flawless diamond (princess and emerald cut are approximately the same in value) would cost approx $1000-$2500 per carat. So, a nice 2 carat ring would run you a few thousand..........some can cost many more thousand than this.

The four C's are: cut, clarity, carat, and color.
Mine is a little over a carat,a princess cut, and it cost close to $4,000.00.
Shop around before you buy because the emerald and princess are the most expensive cuts.
