Thanks hard to say.
Reagan, Lincoln and Washinton are up there.
Maybe Bush someday. History will tell.
If the Muslim threat dies down than Bush will fade from history but if Bush was right and these thugs keep on terrorizing the world than his doctrine will live on.
For the sake of us all, I hope Bush was wrong. But I fear he is all to right. And God help us all.

Mr. Bush "is" the only president we currently have. Asking "who WAS" the best president would make more sense in question form.
My answer would be ole Teddy Roosevelt.. got a lot done for our country in preserving our public lands & parks.

My vote is for the 26th president - Theodore Roosevelt with his "walk softly and carry a big stick" attitude of running the country. A president for all of the people not just the rich.

Since you only asked for one president, I must choose Ronald Reagan. His goal was peace and the restoration of prosperity. He will go down in history as a great leader, a great man, a great statesman. This sums it up perfectly without adding a long discourse.

I think you have to choose one of Washington, Lincoln, or FDR because they successfully led our country though its most challenging times.
Referring to an answer above, Thomas Jefferson was not the author of the Constitution. James Madison was the primary author of the Constitution. I agree with the answerer that Thomas Jefferson was one of the greatest Americans.

1. gave everything for his country to win independence died broke
2. didnt become a king/dictator instead became president
3. serve as our general during the war
one of his last comments was something like...
dont get caught up in politcial parties......
considering what we have on both sides of the aisle in congress
what an appropriate comment/prediction aye?

other than washington and lincoln, I would say clinton. Some people dont like him, but he actually kept promises he made while campaigning which is more than you can say for most presidents. Besides that, he actually got a lot done.
