Does anyone have ANY interesting ideas to act out hamlet in class in a funny way? some topics already taken are 'that 70's show' and 'F.R.I.E.N.D.S.' Any kind of movie or tv show with distinct characters that can make the teacher laugh! it can even be something like 'The Simpsons'. pleaseeeee tell me your ideas even if u think they are dumb coz dats wt i need!!!!!!!!

hamlet being funny? wow...

but anyways, how about having the whole king claudius marrying hamlet's mother being really dry humour. You can use modern slang too to spruce up the ironicism factor in using slang english in a shakespearian classic:

Have Hamlet confront the king and BE like (yeah, slang see?): Dude wtf are you doing with my mom?

I would go for a classic. Have the King be Archie Bunker, Hamlet the Meathead Mike, Opelia as Gloria and The Queen as Edith, Polinius could be George Jefferson and so on and so on.

Here's one: Hamlet as a woman-abusing scuzzbucket. There's a good foundation for it in the play -- he's cruel to Ophelia for no particular reason. He gives his mother a hard time, although there is some reason for that. He really doesn't do much of anything other than write a play, act crazy and kill people.
