Tell me how can someone become decapatated when hanged?? What happened to Saddaam Husseins half brother when he was hanged last night??

Barzan Ibrahim al-Tikriti was a very large man. His body weight caused his head to rip off.
Here's how it probably happened. When they hang you, they take you up on a platform with a trapdoor in the floor. They make you stand on the trapdoor, and they put the rope around your neck. The rope is long so when they open the door you will fall through, and when the rope runs out your body jerks to a stop and the shock breaks your neck (a "hangman's fracture"), killing you instantly.
However if they execute a heavyset person, his/her body weight will put so much stress on the neck that not only will the bone break but the flesh will rip, causing the head to rip off and the body to slam into the floor.
That's what happend to the unfortunate Mr Barzan

The weight of the body was enough to pull the head off when it went through the scaffold.

the force of the noose is designed to break the neck. It is conceivable that the tissues in the neck were not capable of supporting the weight of the body.

The length of the rope needs to be determined based on height and weight. If it's too short, you strangle. If it's too long, you lose your head.

they tied the rope to tight so when the trapdoor gave way the rope tightened so much it severed the head from the rest of the body. gross! he must have been a big guy!

Too long a rope allowed his body weight to snap his head off. That or he weighed more than they thought.
