If your doctor isn't worried about it, it's fine. Babies have their own schedule. She'll do it when she's ready.

More floor time.

My daughter was a little "behind" at 6 months. She could not sit up by herself for long and wobbled very much. She was not where she "should" have been. So my pediatrician said to leave her roll around on the floor much more. She said no more than 2 hours total per day in any "restrictive device" including carseat, highchair, bouncy seat, swing, etc.......well, guess what. it worked.
now at 9 months she is going from laying down to sitting, sitting up like a champ (no more wobbling or falling over) and even started crawling a few days before she turned 9 months. I never realized how much floor time she was not getting, until I started keeping track.
I know all babies develop differently, but this was the best advice ever. My daughter is all caught up to her age now.
Good luck!!

She sounds like she is doing just fine. All babies reach milestones at different ages. The ages you read about in books, online, and in magazines are just guidelines. I have been a mom for 27 years to 4 kids. I also have been a licensed child care provider for 20 years. I have taken care of many babies over the years. I've seen babies crawl anywhere between 5-12 months. Some babies don't crawl at all but prefer scooting around on their bottom (my youngest daughter did this). Right now I care for a little boy who is 10 months old. He is not crawling either. He sits well, but still occasionally falls over. He also doesn't roll over much. He is happy and content to sit and play with the toys I or the other children give him to play with. His personality lends itself more to being a watcher and not a do-er.

All the answers here are true enough. I have four children and my first two were quick crawlers by 8 months and walking by 10 months. My third hardly crawled and just started getting on her feet by 11 months and my fourth baby is now 11 months and has just started crawling! She's been rolling everywhere and getting the other kids to fetch her stuff by pointing at them, she has so many slaves she doesn't need to walk! I worried with all of them that they weren't doing things "on time" but all babies are SO different.
Give Madison time and don't be to quick to fetch her stuff when she yells, she'll start rolling over for things soon enough!

My son was the same way, but he did eventually start crawling at 9.5 months, and then walking at 11, which is kinda early. So she'll figure it out at her own pace.

You do want to make sure she gets plenty of "tummy time." This is where she plays on her stomach, while supervised. This gives her an opportunity to practice rolling over, and gives her a chance to get up on her hands and knees to start crawling. My son hated it, but once he figured out how he could move around, he loved it. I also found if I got him around older children that crawled around a lot, it encouraged him to want ot move, too. So you might want to try playing with toys with her while she's laying on her tummy.

But, really, she'll figure it out when she's ready. There aren't many kids that start kindergarten without knowing how to crawl. =) So she'll be fine...

Nothing to worry about. What experts say your child may be doing at this stage is a big MAY. If your daughter isn't at the same development stage that other 6 month olds are means nothing. She'll just have a growth spurt at a little later time.

Some babies develop certain things slower than others. i wouldn'tworry if she ishealthy and happy. In just a few months, you are going to wishshe was just starting to sit up instead ofcrawlingand running all over the place. I'll bet that when she starts doing things, you won't be able to hold her back. She just may need you to help her learn the right technique thefirst few times

She'll get it, and she may not even crawl. Some babies go straight to walking. It's all still very normal. Don't worry she is doing fine!

Sometimes this varies on the size of the child and how much time she spends playing on her belly now. Some kids fight when you lay them that way so they don't spend much time and that will make a difference. She'll do it when she's ready.
