That's true Alex, Rice is over there now, but if you are going to post an answer, could you actually answer the question?

No Bill - one state exists. One does not. So one can conclude that the powers that be value the first and not the second people. Violent resistance is the natural consequence of that injustice.

I'd like to hear that answer! My answer-I don't see how. You can cherry pick parts of history but...I think Jimmy Carter was very fair in his assessments-both sides will have to be part of negotiations as Jordan's King recently told Rice. Jordan is a very progressive moderate while largely Muslim country-I think we should listen carefully.

I am always worried when people start talking about rights. Person X's "rights" are really an obligation by everyone else.
If we decide that the Palestinians have a "right" to their own homeland, do we now have an obligation to give it to them?
We did in fact give them their own homeland in 1946 when the British controlled area know as "Palestine" was partioned into a Palestinian Arab state called Trans Jordan (3/4 of the original Palestine) and a Jewish state called Palestine (1/4 of the original Palestine) which was partioned yet again in 47 into Arab (Gaza, West Bank, Jerusalem) and Jewish Areas.
Up until the war in 1967, Eygpt controlled Gaza, Syria controlled the Golan, and Jordan controlled the West Bank and Jerusalem. These countries consider themselves Arabs but did not set up Palestinian homelands though they could of.
So to answer your question, the "Palestinians" have as much a right to a homeland as the Palestinian Jews and the Druze. It has been taken away and given back by the Romans, the Crusaders, the Saracens, the Persians, the English, the French, the Turks, etc. In some ways, they have been treated better by thier enemies than thier brothers.
It is a big friggen mess

Actually, the Palestinians used to belong to Jordan, Egypt, Syria and Lebanon. After the Israelis won the war of 1967, they gained new land as a result and the former home countries of these people refuesed to accept them back. So, they did have a homeland, but that homeland refused to accept them back after Israel gained new land in a war that the Arabs had caused through a military buildup and a blockade.
However, I do agree that the current people known as the Palestinians have the right to a homeland which is why I think that Gaza and the West Bank should be turned over to the Palestinians as their own country.

The Palestinians left their homeland on their own accord in 1948, thinking they would be back before the winter was over after the five Arab armies pushed the Israelis into the sea. Almost 60 years later they are still displaced in neighboring states, the West Bank, and the Gaza strip. The Palestinians would have had a state, had the Arabs not invaded. They would also have had a state with everything they wanted and demanded in 2000, had Yasser Arafat accepted the deal that was set before him, he was even offered half of Jerusalem as a figurehead capital, but it was not to be, as he just a greedy tyrant. Though the Israelis are somewhat at fault, the Palestinians have had every opportunity to live side by side in peace with the Israelis.

To be honest about the Palestinians, you would have a homeland today if you would have sent a leader to Dayton to negotiate in good faith. Arafat and Fatah party have been used the Palestinian people and their plight for personal wealth and gain at their own people's expense. The worst enemies of the Palestinians are not the Israeli but their own leadership. Once the Palestinians elect leader that is of noble character and the Israeli also have progressive minded person leading them, then a homeland and security for both nations could be obtained. But every time you keep blowing opportunities both groups of people will suffer.

Who says they have less of right? I've not heard that. The problem is that there are 3 different religions that all tie their heritage back to that little strip of land, all of whose claims to it are justified. That piece of land (Isreal) has changed hands many times over the years and will continue to do so in the future. Is it too much to ask for these people to live on the same land even though they may hate each other? Maybe they should get over what has happened in the past and look toward the future and try to quit f*cking up the rest of the world. That would be nice but I think it is a bit idealistic.
I'm just sick of most of the world's problems coming from this one area of the world, where the only thing they have going for them is oil. Because once the oil runs out the rest of the world will quit caring about these idiots and they will just have to fight it out on their own. Thanks and have a nice day.

It's one land claim from ancient history versus another.
The only reason the Palestinians seem to have less claim to the land is that
A) There is not a super-powerful pro-Palestinan lobby in the United States like the ultra-super-power Jew force that just about controls American foreign policy and sends billions in free money to Israel every year.
B) American's natural hatred of all things they percieve as Muslim and/or Arab. As much as the Red state hicks hate Jews, they at least seem less alien and threatening than Muslims and dumba55es figure that the Ay-rabs have plenty of land in the rest of the middle east.

Your question is backwards.
It should read "Do the Israelis have less of a right to a homeland than the Palestinians?"
Proof of this is simple, but very difficult for the simple minded.
Which state blows up children on their way to school?
Which state sends cowards in cars to markets to blow up mothers shopping for their families?
Again the answers are simple.
Edit:
If Palestinians have no home land then what is Palestine?

The Palestinians HAD a national homeland...for a matter of moments, until those peaceful Arabs attacked Israel on the day of its independence. When a handful of mostly unorganized Jews handed the armies of five Arab nations their collective arses, "Palestine" ceased to exist, due to their own action and those of their friends.
Perhaps if Arabs learned how to live in peace with their Jewish neighbors instead of being so intent on pushing them back into the sea, there would be an independent Palestine today.

I think so. (Palestinians have less right to a homeland)
The Palestinians are not a people, they are locally displaced
Arabs. They have been isolated from their Arab brothers by
other Arabs in order to foment hate and violence against
Israel and the West because the Arabs have never had any
kind of tolerant society.
The Jews and Kurds, and Christians living in Arab lands
have always been persecuted, and that is why Israel wanted
it own land, and the Kurds do as well.
It is time to look past the absurd superficial arguments
the Palestinians make and see that they cannot run a
country, they cannot administer their own government.
They have shown over and over they want to fight and
kill far more than they want to build their own country.
Any country that does not do what it needs to do to
help their own people's security and future does not
deserve to exist .. and the middle east is full of them.
The only reason that the Palestinians can survive is
that they are given money to make war against Israel
by the other oil rich Arab countries.

Was given to Israel... less than 1%...of the Arabic Desert...and Re-created.... in few years the Nation of Israel....for centuries the Arab world has the rest of the Desert....what these Arab Dictators done with it?- exept to over-abuse their populations(99%-members of their populations they do n't own or know how to wear shoes yet)-and transfer the wealth of their nations overseas- under their name- to be use for their personal needs. ( Can you compare an Israeli fully supplied - Class Room with an Arab Classroom, do you checked lately what both sides Teach?) ....Arafat was dieying...22 Arab nations- not one of them had a proper Hospital..to take care his Medical Problems...he had to die in France...a devoted Muslim ...he died in a Christian HOSPITAL ...shame on you All ARABS. I am a born ARAB, and as an ARAB I can tell you :my fellow ARABS will never win any wars against ISRAEL because we are governed by such corrupt Dictators and the populations are so divided and subdivided to the point that we kill each other with no hesitation. Take exaple IRAQ- USA invaded IRAQ...how many ARAB nations send troops to help IRAQ?- SHAME on you ALL ARABS. In IRAQ- the IRAQIS are killing each other more than 300 IRAQIS per day ... where is the rest so called ARABIC advice and intelligence to help them to stop this dailly violence & murder and start puting their new Nation together... towards a better life. SHAME ON YOU ALL ARABS. The Israelis and the rest of the free wants to see a real FREE DEMOCRATIC PALESTINE, but the PALESTINIAS because they are so stupid they are not happy with that...they want the whole thing includind ISRAEL...something that will never will happen...because as always no one ARAB nation will help them if they will do any mooves.- SHAME ON YOU ALL ARABS.
