By the way, I am aware that the cat is black and I trip over her because I can't see her...is humor really dead these days or does it only reside in TV shows?

I had two black cats in my time and although they were so lovely and affectionate they both suffered premature deaths of the not medical kind. One was run over by a fire truck. (This I would call bad luck) And the other was squished by the garage roller door (again this was bad luck)
So although they bought me nothing but love and happiness they seemed to have been cursed with "bad luck"

My favorite cat was black with gold eyes. Smart, mischevious and very friendly. The only thing 'evil' she ever did was stretch as far as she could while standing on a table and pull some books off a bookcase shelf. There were three or four Bibles, and that's all she pulled out. I had friends that were really spooked when I told them that, but I think she was only trying to get to the top of the bookcase.

In some countries, black cats are lucky!

We had a beautiful black kitty for many years, and she was not the nicest personality on the block, but she was very elegant and mysterious. We never had particularly bad luck (-:.

I think you should tell those superstitious people that you have a special lucky dispensation, and that this kitty brings super luck! I also wouldn't trust these people with your money, your children or your pets (-:. Good thing you found this out about these people now, right?

I have always owned Black cats. The last one I named Ja Ja.
Which is an African name for Gods gift. I had to give him up,
and gave him to the Humane Society to keep him from freezing outside. I was in between apartments.
A few days later, I had a dream. He was laying on a fat pillow
and purring, and I felt warmth. He let me know he found a good home.
Read Job 12.

black is the color magik, shapeshifting, and transformation
cats are lucky anyway
I would never live in a house without a cat
the spirit of the cat, protects the home and all of the occupants that reside within it's walls. When you see your cat pawing at the air for some unforeseen reason, he or she is chasing away any negative energy that may have found it's way within the walls of your home. the cat is one of the most intuitive animals on this earth
their eyes are the gateways to the afterlife, they becon you to enter their world and become a part of their magik.

I think black cats are not unlucky. Mostly because in my family we have 2 all black cats and we haven't had any really bad luck yet.

I have always had black cats, when I have had cats...

And now, though I am not "rich", I'm sure I have more money than anyone really needs...

Imagine how wealthy I might be if only I'd settled for a tabby or two!

I don't think they are unlucky at all. I love cats. But I think the more a person believes in a silly superstition the more it will go to their head and it will make them *think* the cat is unlucky.
