Chick Hearn's slam dunk?

Is there a credible source (i.e. not Wikipedia, etc.) that says Chick Hearn came up with the term "slam dunk"? It's a term that has always been associated with him, but is it just an urban legend?

I don't have a source for you, but I remember he actually talked about it himself (with color commentator Stu) during a Laker game broadcast years ago before he passed.

The phrase "Slam Dunk" was coined by Laker's play-by-play man, Chick Hearn.
This is the closest i could find, I know not the most reliable, but it is the closest I can get.
