anyways , a while ago , i got a job at hollister . theire application process includes sending in a picture of yourself so , they judge you on appearance . then i quit hollister cause i got a job at A&F (cause theres better pay ^^) and they also have to send a picture in of yourself . i have worked at kelseys and the supermarket but you dont have to do that ...
so , my question is , why do they do that ?

I worked at Hollister and I never had to send in a picture of myself, then again, perhaps that's cause they saw me. It's pretty obvious they judge on appearance cause everyone that I've ever seen working there is good looking. Anyway, I think they do that because they want people that "represent their brand." Plus, part of the job description as an impact team member, or sales associate or whatever you wanna call it, is a model. And real models are attractive. So they are going to want to hire attractive people who fit the "Hollister look" I guess.

Well, I work at A&F, and I didnt have to send a picture of myself. They asked me to work there when I was shopping. I took the jo offer, and i didnt really have to send a pic of myself since they already saw me...i guess. I'm not really sure why they ask for your picture. Well they dont really want some plus-size nerd working there. So yea.....hteyre not really stuck up....they just want someone normal-looking. Usually people think they only hire models or whatever whic is totally nort true. I dont even consider myself looking like a model. I just think im an average looking person. So yea.....im probably no help because my answer is not that clear....but i do work there so i might be a help.

Most likely because if you look good in the clothes the store sells, it is kind of like walking advertisement.

you have to look good in the clothes they sell since their target is girls and guys in their teens. everytime i go in hollister the manager on duty gives me a job offer and i hate that its soo annoying.

Ok, i beg to differ with the answer above mine- They are not stuck-up.....they need a picture because they're not going to hire some bum that has greasy hair and a nasty face to sell their clothes...it's repulsive....so they need to sift through...and if you've got self-grooming skills, you're in.....they're not picky and stuck up.

Because they're superficial and only want good-looking employees because of their stuck-up culture. Just like you said, they judge you on appearance.

if u look halfway decent u won't have to worry about that now will u? they want people to look good who work at the store. the fashion industry is NOT about inner beauty hon!
