Call your doctor. I am told that doctors use liquid nitrogen to freeze the external extra cord off. Washing it will simple not get it off. You need something that will disconnect it either by freezing it or surgery.

I've never had kids, but I have 2 younger brothers and I used to babysit alot. The doctor said in order for it all to fall off, it has to dry. Just like a wound...if it was always wet, it would continue to bleed. When they're that young you're supposed to give sponge baths, not actual baths. thats why...

confident it could happen, it may be the nappy it is reasons it, attempt and fold the nappy appropriate down or over so as that it does not touch the tummy button. You get alcohol on the chemist, attempt and sparkling this with a sprint bit cotton as oftentimes as you could, that's going to dry it out. possibly even placed a sprint bit cotton over it below the nappy

You are not supposed to give babies baths until their cord comes completely off. She should be getting sponge baths only. I would stop bathing her and continue to alcohol swab it to dry it up so it will fall off.

Whenever in doubt about anything with your newborn, contact your doctor. I had two kids and that fell off in one piece for both of them, so I've not experienced this personally.

Just keep putting alcohol on it to dry it up and keep her diaper folded down so it doesn't get it wet. It will be fine. Same thing happened to 2 of my kids.
