Sorry to say but none, Koi grow to be huge. If it is the fact that you dont have a heater, thats why you want koi, may I suggest white cloud mountain minnows? As long as it stays above 60 you should be fine, you could probably get about 20 of them if you have a good filter, if not I would just do 10 or so.
Hope This Helps and Sorry!!!!!! :(

a million. A tall tanks make a 20 gallon tank for a koi worse. A koi grows long, not tall. 2. Its okay to maintain 2 koi in a 20 gallon tank for a at a similar time as. while they attain to 5in each, circulate it to a one hundred to a hundred and fifty gallon tank or a pond. 3. simply by fact the 20 gallon is a tall, upload a filter out PLUS an airstone to grant greater section for the fish.

None, Koi grow too large for an aquarium that size. If you prefer to just have goldfish, how about small redcap oranda, bubble eyes, or black moors. There are lots of different types of gold fish that would love your 20 gallon tank, and if you buy small ones, you will enjoy them while you get to watch them grow. Many petstores will also take trade ins. When your fish get too large you can sometimes take them to a local petstore and trade them for other smaller fish, or get store credit. Good luck

None. All koi will rapidly outgrow a 20 gallon tank.

In fact no goldfish should be kept in a tank that small as they too will rapidly outgrow the tank.

Koi grow to the size of the water environment they are in. but if you have more than two they should be in a pond. A homemade pond is very easy to create just as long as there are no racoons in your area. Racoons will eat the fish.
