The "Rebel Yell" was the sound of the Confederates when they would charge the Union troops in the Civil War. It was very frightening to hear thousands of men screaming as they raced toward you with bayonets!

During the Civil War,the Confederate soldiers had a special yell they gave when they charged. It was a very frightening sort of howl&yell like never heard by Northerners. it also gave the Rebels ,an extra shot of adrenaline to charge.
