My mom bought me a nice XL cotton sweater for me even though I'm a size medium. I decided to just wash it normally to shrink it but it shrank just a tad more than I had hoped. Tugging on the sweater to stretch it has helped a little, but the back of the sweater occasionally rides above the pantline and I was wondering if there was a simple way to stretch it an extra inch or two?

AFTER YOU WASH IT NEXT TIME
(ON COLD/DELICATE CYCLE),
PUT IT IN THE DRYER ON PERMANENT PRESS CYCLE FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES,
TAKE IT OUT (DAMP) AND STRETCH IT,
ALLOW THE SWEATER TO DRY ON A FLAT TOWELLED SURFACE, GOOD LUCK

Have you tried stretching it while it is wet? Then let gravity help by hanging it over a towel rack in the bathroom so the end of it hangs down while it dries. The weight of the water will help it stretch. If that works, wash it only in cold water and don't put it in the dryer. Sounds like you have a high-maintenance sweater. Good luck.
