Let me explain a bit, this lady who is in the same department as me is so fake, stuck up, and she’s a schemer (she plot’s against people to get them in trouble/fired) I just don’t know what to do, if I say something mean maybe she will plot on me, and I cant stay quiet anymore because I cant stand her. I want to blow up on her.

I do not work with her, I work alone but she is in my department (its a gov. job) she is not in a higher position then me. She knows that I do not like her and that I know she does not like me, she still comes out of her way to talk to me. How can I tell her professionally that I do not want to see her face. Oh and I do not kiss up to anyone!

Unless this woman is your boss, your best bet is to stay away from her and ignore her. I know that this tactic is hard at times, but why invite trouble for yourself? Dealing with difficult people is something that you will have to deal with, no matter where you work.

To add to what I have already said in light of your additional information, a tactic that you could use is simply to tell her that you have alot of work and would like to spend the time being productive and not talking. Turn your back to her and start working. (It works for me)

tip from someone older. treat her better than every. kiss some butt and that will help motivate you to get out there and find another job. blowing up provides brief satisfaction and it will not help your situation. the next day, if they don't fire you on the spot, you will feel more intense bad emotions. if she is that bad and her boss depends on her, you don't stand a chance of zapping her. not worth all the time and aggrevation. enjoy kissing up, enjoy getting her help after you leave. she could be a convincing reference if you play your cards right. just get out before you blow up. that is self destructive. unless you are in a wonderful executive position or such, it is just another job to pay the rent. right? paint on a brave smile and do the smart thing. Yes mam, you sure llook good todday. (Big Smile) its called reality, like or not. best just detach and don't expect much more than the check. but you have to get along whereever you go or you cannot pay the rent etc. have to master that. pretend you are in bagdad and she is your sarge -- the sarge's personality counts for nothing when slugs are whizzing buy. she doesn't count unless she manages to tick you off and get you fired. if it is too much, like i said, move quickly and locate anything to get you buy. a blow up will screw up finding another job. or maybe not. i am not there.

Maintain the polite facade, cuz it don't pay to burn bridges at all, no matter who they are! But other than that give them a wide berth. What I hate is that when they talk to you and you turn into THEM-I just hate the way they make you feel, or how they can affect your day with the smallest issues! Steer clear in a polite way, definitely has helped me!
Hope this helped you!

Don't get involved in office gossip
Listen, but don't say anything about yourself
Talk to her as little as possible
Keep your private life private
Don't agree with her when she's plotting against others (even to humor her)
Try to keep calm--meditate or run at lunchtime, and before and after work, if necessary
During breaks, bring a book/magazine to read--that keeps you from having to talk/listen to her--OR wear a walkman

Be as nice as possible, but dont act like a push over or a goody goody stuck up people hate that. If she keeps annoying you tell the manager that you want to switch department.

Tricky situation. To be on the safe side I'd stay quiet if I were you as it's not worth your job to get on the wrong side of colleagues. Stay neutral and just comfort yourself with the fact that people like that always trip themselves up in the end, she won't always be able to get away with it..

These are the worst kind of people- there are a number of stratagies you can use, see which one works for you.
Ignore her
Grin and pretend you don't care. (Act sarcastically friendly)
Be friendly.
Think up some smart-*** comebacks (Friends help with this)
Be mean
Tell whoever's in charge.

Remember people you work with a just that - people you work with and not your friends.

Maintain a professional demeanor and when it's time to go home leave her behavior there.

It isn't your company, you didn't hire her, and it's not up to you to fire her. You are there to do your job and that's it.

if there are mostly other workers that feel the same way talk to them about and figure it out as a team to deal with this rationally cuz she can scheme one person but not everyone.

Put a tack on her seat each day. Or you can act your age and get over it. Not everyone you are going to be in contact in your life is going to be pleasant so learn to grin and bear it.
