A clown pleco would be idea for that sized tank. As far as a dwarf pleco I'm not sure what you mean. Dwarf pleco covers a wide range of pleco and includes a clown pleco. Also clown plecos could be one of a number of pleco, or the mega clown pleco.

PS- Clown pleco like a chunk of drift wood to chew on. Mine love to hide on his. Also note that clown pleco tend to change color to suit their hiding spots. Mine was light colored when I bough him, but he has gone rather dark to match his piece of wood.

Please find the latin names for the fish you are asking about. There is a "clown pleco" that gets much too large for a 33. The dwarf plecos are an entire family of fishes none of which are actually Plecostomas at all. If the person who is selling you the fish can't tell you the latin (Taxonomic) name of the fish,or at least look it up,then they really don't know enough to be selling them. You are doing the right thing by researching before buying, but reliable resources are hard to find on the web.If the taxonomic name of the clown is(Panaque) it will definitely outgrow a 33 gallon tank. Good luck. PeeTee

I bought a clown pleco for $20 Canadian. So that would be about $18 American.

I don't have a pic, but I'm sure a quick image search would find one for you.

They are dark brown with orange spots, one of the prettied plecos.

THey grow to be about 6 inches max, so it wouldn't out grow a 33 gallon.

Good luck

Hi, a clown pleco is about the same color as a common pleco,..maybe a little lighter but with l almost yellow stripes on its body. (like a clown loach, but different color). They dont get huge, and are nicer looking then the commons. I have one in a 29 and it hasn't grown much at all in about 6 months. I have other types in different tanks, but the clowns are cute and small. Ive also got bushy nose plecos, and stingray plecos. I dont have a pic of a dwarf pleco, but im sure you can find one online if you do a search.
Oh and I paid $5.99 for my clown pleco...ok heres a clown pleco. http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images/view?back=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.search.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%2Fimages%3Fp%3Dfish%2B%252C%2BClown%2Bplecostomus%2B%26ei%3DUTF-8%26fr%3Dslv8-%26x%3Dwrt&w=640&h=340&imgurl=www.plecofanatics.com%2Fgallery%2Fdata%2F501%2FResize_clowny-2.jpg&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.plecofanatics.com%2Fforum%2Fshowthread.php%3Ft%3D11820&size=43.4kB&name=Resize_clowny-2.jpg&p=fish+%2C+Clown+plecostomus&type=jpeg&no=14&tt=38&oid=acc173e558f0aed4&ei=UTF-8

Both should be fine in a 33 gallon tank.
