The American-installed Iraqi government executed Saddam Hussein's half brother and top aide Barzan Ibrahim al-Tikriti this weekend.

The execution was badly botched and Barzan's head was ripped off his body by the hangman's noose while he was still alive.

What do you think about this brutal execution?

Will this make Iraqis think of Barzan as a martyr?

I think it was barbaric and shows that Iraqis want to kill each other. Acts like this can only fuel the sectarian conflict. I don't care what Bush says - we're in the middle of a civil war.

First of all, Iraqi Government was duly elected by Iraqis in January 2005. Second, if you think that was brutal, try being fed to a wood chipper, feet first!. Iraqis decided their fate, they went through many decades of torture by the brutal regime so they deserve to deal with them as they see fit. Neither your or anyone else who's not an Iraqi have a say in the matter.

Obviously, this butcher did not deserve the breath of life but as a civilized society we can not become vindictive and take a life and in effect be placed in the same category as one whom we condemn. Iraq, with the backing of the United States applies capital punishment and joins countries such as China, Iran, North Korea, and the United States in instituting the archaic and barbaric death penalty which has been abolished by the entire Western World. Whether this butcher is considered a martyr or not, it matters little since Iraq is a "nation" that has and always will know violence and corruption as a way of life.

They all had it coming.

The Iraqi's (at least the sunnis) would think of him as a martyr.

But the Kurds still would not (they were persecuted during the regime).

The guy put people through meat grinder's, I hope he died painfully. I cant believe there are people that are actually outraged by this.
