Birds are an important component of our ecosystem. They keep mice and rats in control and eat insects that attack crops. They are food for other organisms and create habitat for other organisms. They disperse seeds and pollen. There are cases on islands when birds go extinct, the trees also go extinct. Too, birds have a tremendous economic value, not only as protectors of crops but also as sources of meat, eggs and fiber. I'd like to also mention that bird watching is a multimillion dollar industry of tours, magazines, books and nature-based travel.

The passenger pigeon is extinct; it happened about a hundred years ago. They went from a population of 2 billion to a population of zip in about 30 years. We're still not sure what effect this is having on the forests in which they once lived.

No, species die off each and all of the time (variety of), however the atmosphere adapts many times. notwithstanding at situations, there have been incidents of one specific species starting to be extinct that variety into the main predator for another species, for this reason inflicting the prey species to multiply excessively and run rampant. to that end inflicting an off-stability. This has brought about many issues, yet because of the fact we human beings are many times the culprits of why that befell interior the 1st place, we would desire to do issues to regulate stability of the atmosphere.

Any mass extinction will effect all other species. It a cliche but there is a circle of life all nature maintains some form of balance. A mass extinction would effect almost every other species.
