Yes, absolutely. Tyrannical regimes, from the Soviet Union to the Taliban, have banned music. Music has been snuck into them, and people have literally died to make and distribute it. Music is a big deal to fundamentalists of all religions, too.
Look what these girls in Afghanistan did, and then tell me it's not a way to make a statement or change one's world.

No, I actually find it retarded that people that think music can have that much of affect. I know it inspires people, but I highly doubt someone would listen to, say a rap song, and then go shoot 4 people because of it.

I totally agree with everything you said above
Music DOES have to power to change the world, if only people would listen to the RIGHT kind of music and follow what the lyrics say then they may make an influence on someone else in their life who may influence someone else bY their actions/ words.
