Drain the tank. take the lines loose at the fuel filter. I use a elec fuel pump and put it in line and pump the fuel and water out of the tank. Once you have all the fuel and water mix out put in some fresh diesel and continue to flush till you are sure you got it all out. Fill the fuel filter with fresh fuel and try and start the car. it might smoke a bit but clean up. If it won't start you will need to crack the lines at the injectors and pump some fuel thru them also. Do this by cranking the motor over while cracking the lines at the injectors one at a time. Good luck hope you have some patients this will take a bit.

How did you do this? The Diesel hose nozzle is too big to go into the fuel filler neck on modern cars? You must drain the fuel tank of the diesel fuel. Running it into the engine full strength will screw up the emissions devices etc. Astrobuf

Ouch! I would start by pulling the fuel tank and completely draining it out. Your fuel filter needs to be replaced and if you have a water separator on it, then that will have to be cleaned out also. Use compressed air to blow out the fuel lines as much as possible. I would suggest taking into a diesel repair shop or a Audi dealer and bite the bullet and have it repaired.

call the mechanic and give him and his buddies about 25 minutes to laugh, then make your appointment to have them do their thing.
