3 Types Of Acceleration

This is a stupid question--I pray that some elementary school teacher didn't assign this as science hw. If so, I pity the students.

Acceleration is the change in velocity over time. There are several forces that cause acceleration (gravity, electromagnetic, strong, and weak nuclear) which manifest themselves in many ways in physics and chemistry and all sorts of sciences.

That acceleration can have many effects like circular motion (centripetal acceleration). In an accelerating reference frame (like the earth, an elevator, or a spinny ride), a body may experience pseudo-accelerations (centrifugal, coriolis, etc)

But there are no "kinds" of acceleration. Seriously, this is a terrible question. Probably trying to elicit a parroting of a line in your text. If this is HW, tell your teacher to get some help, because he/she stinks.

I wholeheartily agree with Bekki. The dimensions for acceleration are length per unit time per unit time, (l/t^2) PERIOD.

You may be using different coordinate systems and have normal and tangential directions, but acceleration is what it is.

Please elaborate what three accelerations you are having at the back your mind. Otherwise for me acceleration is acceleration as rose is a rose is rose! One way I choose is like this: average acceleration constant acceleration and instantanous acceleration. If constatnt then the same is average and instantaneous!

I AGREE WITH BEKKI B
there are three kinds of kinetic energy -
LINEAR
ROTATIONAL
AND VIBRATIONAL
