Yes, it's an old bar trick. Before you light it up, and not in front of the folks you are betting, put a needle (the longest thinnest one you can find) down the center of the cigarette. You can find long fine needles at craft stores for a couple bucks. You can also use a bamboo skewer (a lot cheaper) but easier for your mark to see. Don't soak it to keep it from burning, it will smoke more and give you away.

I don't think so...the ash as it gets longer would eventually become to heavy and would fall off on its own...you can light a cigarette and leave it burning in an ash tray and and it will burn all the way to the filter leaving one long piece of ash..but the ash is supported by laying on the bottom of the ashtray....done this many times.....
