50kg x 1000g / 1kg = 50,000g
Look at the labels: when you multiply across, kg/kg cancels, so you are left with grams. 1000 grams = 1 kg, so we use them for the 1000__/1__ part. We are given it's 50 kg in the problem, and we want grams in the end (which turns out to be 50,000.

Conversion problem. Set up the equations so that the units will cancel and give you the desired units.
1 kg = 1000 g.
50 kg x 1000 g/1kg = 50,000 g.

"Kilo" means 1,000. So, 50 kilograms means 50 times 1000 grams, or 50,000 grams.

do you know the mnemonic KHD DCM: king henry died drinking chocolate milk, OR kilo hecta deca deci centi milli. Right between the two Ds is the regular unit: liters, meters, grams, etc.
for this equation, 50kg is at the K. to get it in g, move the decimal back to where the unit is. so from behind the K move it back 3 decimal points (see how if the decimal is behind K you have to move it right behind the blank?) back to behind the blank.
50. => 50,000.
hopefully that helped.

50 kg = 50,000 g
The blanks should be, left to right: kg, g, kg, g
So it reads: 50 kg * 1000 g/1 kg = 50,000 g
