AM (amplitude modulator) is a type of radio signal in which the amplitude, or strength, of a radio wave is varied in order to carry information from a transmitter to a receiver.
FM (frequency modulation) is a transmission technique that blends the data signal into a carrier by varying (modulating) the frequency of the carrier. FM provides a cleaner, static-free broadcast.
