Ewww....I'm horrified.

It kind of sounds like lice. I would take it to the vet, before it spreads to you.

They sound like Fur Mites. If so, you are not at risk, although other animals are. Please take the poor thing to the vet A.S.A.P.!!! Take him to an exotic vet, the vets that are at your average animal hospital aren't trained for guinea pigs, so go to Google or Ask Jeeves and find one in your area. Please do this as fast as possible for your piggie's sake.

Take him to a vet so that they can give you medication to kill those harmful parasites. If you don't, the parasites will kill your guinea pig slowly by draining all of its nutrients.

if they're highly visible, about 1cm long then they're probably a fur mite called Cheyletiella parasitivorax that can infest dogs, cats, and other animals and cause dermatitis in humans - take piggy to the vet asap!
