Microsoft haters are a culture; I'd ignore such people and look at the fact that Apple's Quicktime often crashes Windows PCs and hijacks the IE browser file associations without any easy way to change it back. I just don't like having anything Quicktime based on my PC, so that leaves me with Zune.

iPod by far. the resolution of the Zune is exactly the same of that of the iPod. Although the screen is bigger, the Zune is new technology and i believe that more editions of it should come out before people start buying it. Microsoft should have entered the Music businness when Apple was introducing the iPod video. At that point, the Zune was the way to go. I have an iPod video and it is worth every cent. iTunes is always on my computer. I use it more than my iPod. The user interface of the Zune Marketplace for music is horrible and clunky.

RESPONSE TO Mario C: (in regards to your previous b.s. post)
First off I don't really care what you're "starting to disagree" with and it's not a copy and paste, seeing that I originally wrote it in the first place.
"He said it is bad because it puts DRM on music that is sent wire less..... Well, are you expecting them to let you just give away your songs to everyone? So that they dont have to pay? Also, You cant say that is bad, as the Zune is one of the only mp3 players that EVEN OFFERS WIRELESS. So there is no way you can mark that against it"
Wrong, I said its DRM policy violates the Creative Commons license. What you don't seem to understand in your massive cluelessness is that the Zune puts DRM on files that you own THAT DON'T HAVE IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. If a band or any other organization releases music under the Creative Commons license...it is not allowed to be DRM'ed, however, the Zune doesn't give a **** and does it anyway. If you trade any mp3 (which is DRM'less) the Zune adds it. The Zune WiFi feature is nothing but a marketing driven "solution" soley for the purpose of purchasing music.
"Ok, so the zune does have the same rezolution, Let me assure you, you WILL NOT NOTICE A DIFFERENCE. You wont, you just wont. I mean, are you really, honestly going to notice 50 pixles?"
Not only can I tell the difference, so can many reporters that have reviewed the Zune. It's obvious that you've never compared them side by side.
"and as for the buggy software, sure a few have had problems, but i dont think you realize how buggy iTunes was when it first came out for windows. And now that they have been around for a while they can fix the bugs... Same with the Zune Marketplace, they will fix the bugs, and in fact, they already have fixed most of them."
iTunes never hosed anyone's system nor did it ever require manual installation of .dll files. (one of the biggest reasons Zunes are being returned in droves is due to its software issues)
"
... You have got to get the facts right, the Toshiba Gigabeat costs 269.99 retail.. but you can find it almost anywhere for the same price as the zune. 249.99, so it is the same price, if not, LESS."
No clown, you've got to get your "facts" straight. Here's a 30GB Toshiba Gigabeat on Amazon for $126.99. Last time I checked $249 was MORE than $126.99. What weird math world are you living in?
http://www.amazon.com/Zune-Digital-Media-Player-Black/dp/B000EPLP3C/sr=8-1/qid=1168920069/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/104-2801794-7600733?ie=UTF8&s=electronics
"OH NO IT DOESNT WORK WITH FIREFOX OR WMP!!!. Neither does the ipod. and how could it work with firefox... id ont understand how you can sync the Zune with firefox. lol what could you do? transfer your bookmarks"
Try downloading the Zune software using Firefox...hotshot. Apple lets you download Quicktime and iTunes using virtually any browser made. That's what meant by that. ("LOL" as you like to say) Additionally, you can use WinAmp and RealPlayer with an iPod if you don't want to use iTunes. Microsoft, on the other hand, can't even not screw over its own PlaysForSure partners.
"If you do the math, the zune is increasing MUCH FASTER than the ipod did"
The only thing about the Zune that's increasing faster than the iPod is its "return rate". It has the highest level of returns of any mp3 player. Each individual model of iPod on its own, sells more than the Zune. If you break iPods down by model, they still lead. Your "stats" are complete b.s.
"they didnt trick you with playing apples AAC Format, it plays it just fine, with no formatting no changing of format, no nothing, just drag and drop. You must be misleaded by reading that it cannot play purchased music from the itunes music store, but if you rip a CD with itunes and it makes it AAC, the zune does play that with no problems."
I didn't say they "trick you", I said they're using misleading advertising. Can you even read? You have no idea what you're talking about here. Apple wraps all it's music sold from the iTunes store in its FairPlay DRM. They're AAC files, however, they're wrapped in FairPlay and nothing but QuickTime, iTunes and iPods can play it. If you rip a CD using iTunes in the AAC format...it gets FairPlay put on the file. Ripping in the AAC format using iTunes is no different than buying from the iTunes store, in terms of the file. The Zune in absolutely no way whatsoever is playing them without a conversion happening. If you convert them to a format the Zune can play, they will suffer a loss of quality. Period. There are no "if ands or buts" about it.
Look, if you're going to "dis" my post, at least have some semblance of a clue as to what your talking about. Mmmmkay? Understand?
p.s. I think it's pretty obvious given this post here, that you're nothing more than a paid Microsoft shill. (Quik Boy is another one)

Being a computer tech, and assuming that I didn't know much about either one, and had to choose, I would go with the iPod. The reason is simple: Xune is made by Microsoft, owner of Windows, the most horrid operating system family there is. iPod is made by Apple, who has, for years, been producing the really good stuff first.
Beyond that, the Hard Drives on the iPods are a lot larger.
