01 ford focus. the car is throwing out a failing catylytic converter code and then the plastic distribution tube cracks and water and stem inundate the engine area. ever since that the car drives ok but has an intermitent rough idle that drops to 250 rpm from about an 825rpm and then it jumps right back up to warm idle. also i don't think it's a problem till the car is warmed up. i'll double check that though. any ideas?

sort of hard to diagnose with the little info you gave. Was the cat code showing before the water break? If not check for sensor being bad on the cat. the water could have been enough to damage it. That is enough to tell the computer faulty info and make it idle rough. If that is not the case check egr and make sure it is working properly. Don't rule out the cat might actually be bad.
