It is because to end negotiations wouild be sign for no end to conflict
Negotiations should continue until a peaceful end is forthcoming.

In order to understand another ,we must walk in their shoes! How do you suppose negotiations will work, when the bombing goes on , there are palestinians refugees all over the world ,like the jews were once!Truth be told the land is big enough for all of them ,it is intervention from the outside that causes the problem.Ms, Rice with due respect as a black woman ,from Alabama is not the person to settle this. What is needed is a strong negotiator ,preferably a man with focus on neutrality and the issue at hand!

The PLO recognized Israel after the Oslo accord and they got nothing in return...So why would Hams recognize it?I think they are right...Israel is the occupier and they are the ones who should recognize the Palestinians and then talk about recognizing Israel...
Hamas wanted to negotiate with Israel, they even offered them aa truce, but Israel rejected it from the start...So why would Hamas continue to negotiate with Israel?Ms.Rice would offer a solution that it's in Israel's best interests and I really doubt that the Palestinians would accept more injustices...

The rhetoric on this issue has been flying for 60 years. Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, all changed their stance. Keeping a dialog going is imperative. Convincing people that it is in their best interests to do an about face usually works, even if it takes years. Yes, as long as there are people who think change can occur, keep trying.

Of course, Because you need to negotiate with your enemy if you want peace, and the Israelis have said they want peace. Simple as that.

Not recognizing Israel is not some massively huge crime that requires everyone to lose their minds, it's just a hard-core position being taken by the palestinians in order to push their political agenda. I'm sure they will eventually recognize Israel when they feel they will get their own soverignty and have a peace deal they can live with.

It is talk to your enemy or exterminate them. Wars rarely execute according to plan,as attested to with the Iraq fiasco. The only solution in Iraq is engaging Syria, Iran, Turkey, etc in dialog.
The US did not get out of Nam till a deal was cut with North Vietnam. Unless you are prepared to create a desert and call it peace, you have to negotiate.

These remarks and statement have a political meaning, don't let them worry you, I would not be surprised if Hamas sometime in the future changes its mind (this will most probably occur when Iran and Syria will be politically silenced).

Israel needs to implement U.N. Security Council resolutions and leave Palestinian lands. Stop the ocupation and there will be peace. There can never be peace without justice. As long as the Israeli's keep oppressing the Palestinians, there will always be conflict.
