I am 34 weeks preganant and my cat has become more aggressive towards me. She has always been aggressive, but it is happening more often. She will attack me for no apparent reason. My vet has suggested medicating her in the past, but I opted not to. Any suggestions?

she most likely can sense the change in your hormone levels due to the pregnancy. there's not much you can do to stop her from sensing this...animals are quite adept at these things but here's the real problem here; how is your cat going to handle a baby? her actions could also be possessiveness because she knows some change is happening. you certainly don't want the cat attacking the baby when he/she's born! i hate to advise you to give the cat up for adoption but i just want you to think real hard about whether or not you want to put a helpless infant in that situation...

Not with cats but when I was pregnant with my son my dog was very upset with me, the one and only time he ever bit me was when I was pregnant. They can sense when something is different and I think they feel very territorial at this time. Is there a place in the house she can have all to herself? Maybe she is feeling a little insecure not knowing what to expect with all these changes she is sensing. good luck!

I'd dope the cat once the baby comes for sure.
