She may be ill or she maybe be trying to hibernate. I have had one for 10 years now and every winter she will cut down on food. It is natural for them to want to hibernate when the temperatures get cooler out. If you got her from a breeder I would go back to them and see what they say. If you got her from a pet store you really should consult a vet.

I would guess that something is amiss with her habitat. How do you have her housed? What sort of temp is her water and do you have a light on her? I have had mine for 2 years, since she was a hatchling, and she has always been the biggest pig. I keep her water very clean and dechlorinated of course, she has a basking area with a UVB/UVA light that is 100 watts. She will eat most anything. Make sure that your turtle has enough light and the proper kind of light. Make sure she is warm enough. You can try feeding her live worms..mine LOVES earthworms and mealworms. I hold one end of them with a tong and she grabs them. Don't let the worms sink into the water and get uneaten. They will degrade and foul your water up. Clean water is important for these turtle's health along with the proper diet and lighting.

I hope she is okay.

The problem with red ear sliders is that they tend to come diseased. They die easily if they have a disease and there is nothing you can do about it. A lot of places have banned the selling of them, and that is one of the reasons.

Good luck.

Juveniles are carnivores. The best foods are liver, earthworms and small fishes. When it reaches adulthood, you can add dark green leafy vegetables and bright orange ones.
