The question is not whether Philly would trade Howard for Pujols, the question is why the h*ll would you trade Pujols for Howard! Pujols is much better overall. The only reason that Howard won MVP last season over Pujols, is because Pujols was out for a month. All Howard can do is hit. His fielding is average. Pujols can hit, and field, and is a much better player overall. Obviously, Philly's management would trade Howard for pujols, but I don't think the Cards will part with Pujols any time soon. I think Howard and Pujols have similar futures. However i think that besides the stats, the Phillies want Howard to become a symbol for the club, their star player. He is already their homegrown boy, beloved by the city. He is untradeable.

Pujols is a unfastened agent.. if the Phillies choose him they only would desire to cough up the money for it. And no, no person of their appropriate strategies could commerce howard for Pujols. His declining production and injury historic previous mixed along with his settlement makes him a destructive commerce fee. If the Phillies offered to today up provide him to a various team.. that communities tells them no.

No of course not. Howard is young and healthy and Pujols is breaking apart. It would be a very poor investment in the long run.

Pujols is a better all around player, I would do it in a heartbeat.
