That's a fantastic question!! What's your problem with it? It covers so many things that different students might see in it!!
Was he a victim of genetics or perhaps a victim of the devil which you must think exists? Or WAS he the devil???
I LOVE that question. It could include our penal system, ethics, religion, philosophy, and a multitude of sins. Enjoy a teacher that makes your mind open even if he has to prop it up. He sounds like an interesting man. Enjoy your youth and your strength.
Some of us would kill to be young just one more time, especially ME. And if I had a question posed to me that was full of so many possibilities I would fly with it!! That particular teacher wants you to think and extend your capacity for thought just as far as you can. Treasure your youth while it's here. I do. Treasure yours, that is. Good Luck Kiddo!! @8-) P.S. Someday the world might become just a paycheck that has a bank statement and credit card bill waiting for it at home. LIVE and REJOICE in your youth. I'm counting on YOU!!

I very firmly believe that hitler was neither. Nobody is pure evil, sure we may do evil things, but no person is pure evil. He is not crazy either, a crazy person would not have been able to accomplish as much as he had done. Also, a crazy person would not have been taken as seriously as he was earlier on in his life.
I think he was just a man on a power trip, who could away with way to much, and realized that he didn't have to answer to anybody.

He was neither. Evil doesn't exist, at least insomuch as a supernatural entity. And a 'crazy' person could not rise to the political and military level that Hitler did. Hitler was purely and simply a delusional megalomaniac, who had a personal vision of an ideal world which he tried to create.

Hitler was most certainly crazy, evil is a religious concept by the way.

He was crazy because -

He failed to see the truth, even when it stared him in the face. Many mistakes he made were due to his stubbornness, and you can call these crazy if you like.

He only saw his own viewpoint, and not good advice given to him. He only saw and reacted to his hatred. Many failed battles are proof of this, including his last, in Berlin, when common sense would tell most men the obvious, but he reacted counter to this.

He married his beloved and had a little ceremony, and moments later killed himself and her. This is crazy. if one believes in the concept of evil, one would assume that true evil would find a way out, not act irrationally.

Hm.. this is interesting.

Well I'll start by saying that I don't believe people can be pure evil. (Although if anyone was, Hitler would probably be it...)

You'd have to be crazy to kill people, especially on such a level as Hitler engineered.... but I think he was more corrupt and disturbed. With crazy thrown in the mix.

I don't know where he came up with some of his atrocity's, I guess he did them because he knew he could. He was actually a very intelligent man, but something along the way went very wrong with him. I think he went crazy, but with more and more pure evil thrown in to his behavior.

I don't hink he was crazy, he was an intelligent man, but he used his capacities the wrong way.

He had a great disdain for human life, just like GWB (only GWB is stupid)

I DON'T THINK HITLER WAS CRAZY AS IN INSANE.....I THINK HE WAS CRAZY FOR POWER AND HE WAS FILLED WITH HATRED. SAYING HE WAS CRAZY OR EVIL ABSOLVES HIM OF RESPONSIBILITY.
