Maybe he has an ulcer. It may not be the worst. Why don't you get your mother and you and take him down back to the doctor and be with him and see what the doctor says. If he goes by himself, he may not have gone at all. I know this will be a hard task, but tell him how much you are hurting inside and you're worrying so much you can't stand it. I hope it works out for you all.

i'm a caregiver and i've studied herbal remedies extensively. also, once i had the flu or something and started to cough up blood(yes, i smoke) then, this old hobo dude i give my cans to came by, saw my condition, said he'd be back, he walked into the hills and brought back a paper bag filled with squaw brush, it looked like long pine needles, he steeped it in a big pot of water for 20 minutes, it made 1 gallon, i drank it for 2 days and on the 3rd day, i could feel myself getting well. you can find it at a hippie-herb kinda store. also, mullein drops work on lungs, sunflower seeds make lungs strong, too. + it hurts for a doc to "pic" lungs!!!

Older generation always have bad feeling for the hospital. My parents don't like to go to the hospital too. Most of the time I had to tell them either they go to the hospital or I bring the Doctor to the house. Sometime it's really tiring to persuade them, but I just have to keep trying, as I know very well, one day, they will leave me.

Your best option is to go to your Dad and tell him, calmly, how upset you are about his health, and how badly it is affecting you. If he cares about you, he will go to the doctor, and let you come with him, as it sounds to me like he didn't go.
Obviously cancer is the first thing that springs to mind, especially with him being a smoker, and he probably doesn't want to face the truth.
I don't want to be morbid or assume, but someone I know died a very horrible death because he ignored the very same symptoms.

WOW WHY ARE YOU SO UPSET???
LISTEN IF YOUR DAD IS SICK, THEN TAKE HIM TO THE HOSPITAL AND LET THE DOCTORS HELP HIM.
IF HE REFUSE TO GO SEE ANY DOCTOR THEN THERE IS NOTHING YOU COULD DO. I MEAN HE IS AN ADULT AND YES SOMETIMES YOU COULD GET FRUSTRATED BUT CALM DOWN FIRST, THEN THINK WHAT WILL BE YOUR NEXT STEP.
YOU COULD GO TO THE COURTS AND ASK FOR HELP SO HE CAN SEE A DOCTOR. BUT I DONT THINK HE WOULD BE HAPPY YOU DOING SO.
GOOD LUCK

Tell your dad that you love him and you want him to be around for as long as possible. Go with him to the doctor. I think he's just scared about what they'll tell him. He owes it to you and your mom to be truthful about his illness. It's not normal to cough up blood. Let him know how important he is to you and your family. Don't get depressed....get angry at him for not taking his life seriously. Don't give up on trying to get him to go to the doctor. Just be brave! He's your dad....he can't get mad at you for loving him. I wish you and your family the very best!

Pray to God consistently mutually as attempting, as God facilitates people who help themselves particularly than people who're lazy. Lord Krisna stated in Bhagavad Gita, we ought to accomplish our works and resign the fruit of our action. So we ought to save attempting and discover excitement in doing our artwork, in spite of if or not we get the wanted result. we ought to consistently not lose wish. Do your perfect and bypass away something to God,it is going to all come spectacular some day or night.
