I'd say most women couldn't afford it and would prefer to spend that much on better things like, idk, A CAR! lol, but if have the money then i guess it would b more common, though still a bit materialistic.

no. it is way to much. 1000 dollars would be too much. 50 dollars should be the maximum for buying purses.

I think there are better ways for a person to spend their money.
But if they earn their own money, I won't disparge their purchases.
