It's easy, just make sure that you cut the patterns out exactly the way the instructions tell you too. Wash your fabric first, so you don't get shrinkage after you sew the garment/ it will pucker if you don't wash it.
Start with something easy like pajama pants, then try a shirt to go with it. Try taking a sewing class, many fabric stores also offer sewing classes.

Wow - good question - I think you take it to the dry cleaners and tell them it is ripped or something and they send it to the Chinese sweat shop and they sew there. Or, you take home economics in high school and they teach you the basics so you can do a little yourself. I am a guy and I can make my own shirts, upholster furniture or sew anything because my mom taught me while my dad taught my sister to fix the car. Best Parents Ever.

I not that good at describing it, I would have to show you.
You can try a local sewing class, sometimes at craft stores. Its very easy! Good luck and Hope it helps a little!!
