Anyone ever use them? What's the best Brand? What's the worst? And, what do you do if you have to run somewhere, your baby is wearing a cloth diaper, and then you change it in public (with a disposable one)....where does the dirty cloth diaper go?

to Sevenuv: Whoa! You poor thing! But surprises are neat! ;) Thanks for the info....breadbags...good idea. I'd wrap with like 10 bags though, lol. :)

I love how people comment about disposables when they have no clue about cloth diapers. The poo is plopped or rinsed in the toilet-there is no poo residue in my washer thank you very much!

I've been using them for over a year.
My favorite brand is fuzzi bunz, but I also like fitted diapers and covers made by work at home moms.
The worst I've come across is bum genius-the velcro came off the diaper after only a month!
If I change it in public:I use a regular changing station, I have waterproof pads that I slip underneath his butt, I wipe him and put the wipes on the pad. I throw the dirty diaper and pad with the wipes on it in a waterproof bag-made of PUL. This bag can be washed with the diaper. It seals up so no stinkies in my bag!
I'll put some helpful links below, there's tons of info out there! send me a message if you have any questions-I love to help out mothers with cloth diapers!

I used cloth diapers with my older children who are now all in their 20's. I used them mainly because disposable diapers were so expensive and I didn't like the idea of so much waste going into the landfill. We were living on one income and I was a student at the time so we didn't have much money I don't think one brand over another is better. I did prefer the pre-folded type though. I used to save my plastic bread wrappers and carry them in my diaper bag. Wet/dirty diapers went into a bread wrapper, twist the top, and fold over, put back in the diaper bag until getting home to rinse it and put it in the diaper pail. We had a surprise baby when our kids were 18, 15, and 12. I only used disposables with her, though.

All three of our children wore cloth diapers. We saved tons of cash with them. In your diaper bag with the extra diapers and rubber pants, extra pins, rash creams and powder, put a good sized plastic bag in to put the soiled diaper into . We used bread bags, you can wrap the diaper several times to hold in the oder.
If you don't want to carry a dirty diaper with you you could just toss it in the trash because like I said compared to disposable diapers you'll save tons of money!

You can get a very cute wetbag and put your soiled diaper in there. they are waterproof like the diaper covers and wont get your diaperbag smelly. I also use Fuzzi Bunz and Happy Heineys and my son is in cloth all the time.

you're better off with a disposable one.. they're more practical and you don't have to worry about washing your own things in poo after you washed the diaper
