In the bigger cities in America their are usually travel agencies that speciallise in travel to certain areas like central America. These agencies usually service the expat and immigrant communities and will have the best deals...ask around and check the yellow pages....

Hi! Try suscribing to the Taca Newsletter at www.taca.com they usually have sales, each time with differente departure and destinations, and hopefully between now and September there will be an offer between your city and Guatemala. I´ve bought many offers with them and it´s become a great saving. Also, it´s convinient that you check often their website SPECIALS to see any new offers.
Also, since you have lots of time left, try checking the big carriers webpage on a regular basis until you see a nice deal; do note that the fares change amost everyday, sometimes even during the same day, so keep an eye out.
