Gray water is the term that is used for used water from your house except the toilet water that contains sewage. For example the water from your washing machine, sink and so on is called gray water.

The water coming from your toilet is not gray water but sewage.

The term is most often used with travel trailers and motor homes -collectively referred to as RVs. But it's also used with septic systems. Gray water is any waste water not including garbage or feces. It's "dirty," but not black. Black water is the waste from the toilet, or waste water including feces and urine. Sometimes, gray water will get re-used, such as for flushing the toilet in a water-conserving system, or for irrigation. Black water goes right to the septic tank, where the bacteria in the tank can "go to work" on it.

Disposal water from sinks and shower. In some units, this is held in a holding tank separate from black water.

Grey water would be all used household water EXCEPT WATER FROM THE TOILET.

The Grey water discharge would/ should not contain anything infectious. So you are looking at mostly shower water and water from dish washing and hand washing.
