Immensely. I hate it when people type "u" instead of "you" and "r" instead of "are". Are they two lazy for the extra key strokes? Do they think so little of the person they're communicating with that they just have to leave those off as a passive-aggressive way of saying, "You don't matter"?

It's one thing if the person in question has a learning disability and simply cannot comprehend proper grammar. I've found that most of the people in question aren't like this. It's mainly with younger people. I tried to go into a chat room a few months back and ended up on the couch with a headache. Their grammar, spelling and syntax were atrocious!

Nope. As an English teacher, I have no problem with bad grammar--I don't even believe there is such a thing as good/bad grammar.

On the other hand, there are multiple sets of grammar rules (e.g., science grammar, spoken newscast grammar, newspaper grammar, academic-humanities grammar) that have "prestige" value. The general overlap of these grammar rules, often called Standard Written English, has a prestige factor associated with it. Those who cannot or chose not to speak or write with this prestige variant are often judged negatively. Thus, there is a direct economic/political/social value to being able to easily and readily manipulate this variant.

Note, however, that the exact rules of this prestige variant are continually changing. Furthermore, the value placed on the prestige variant is decreasing, because (currently) there are more non-native English speakers in the world than native English speakers, and their influence (particularly in science and engineering fields) is expanding greatly.

Lastly, I no u didna want a reel anser to dis question, but i couldna 'elp myself...

The WORST is when people don't know how to use the words
there
they're
their.

I just can't stand that for some reason. I think it's because I know it actually took a little friggin effort to learn those in school and these people did not put that effort out. Ugh. Also, people say I am going to "loose" my mind. It's LOSE. As in if you were in a spelling bee, you would LOSE. And WOMAN is spelled WOMAN. That means ONE female. TWO females is WOMEN. SO many people say I know a women that has red hair. WRONG!!! Thanks for letting me vent.

textual content cloth lingo, in case you will, is casual speech. it fairly is condensed english words laced with numbers that sound like factors of words. it fairly is hideous. It has no rhythm or bypass. besides the undeniable fact that, one shouldn't confuse textual content cloth lingo expressed with the thumbs with greater formal communications, and that's pointless to take offense. in case you bypass to sign a lease and it fairly is written that way, then there could be an argument.

Poor spelling tick me off more, but, at the same time so does bad grammar. I try to teach proper grammar in my home, so, people won't think my family is ignorant.

It's better then fowl language isn't it!!!? As long as it can be understood and is descent it's okay. Everybody can't spell correctly either but they seem to get their message across. As long as it is not offensive then we shouldn't offend.
