There are 16 teams playing in the 2007 World Cup, but teachnically only 5 qualified.

The 11 ODI playing nations - made up of the 10 test nations plus Kenya - automatically gain entry to the competition. There were then 5 spots left for the Associate countries to qualify for. Associate countries are those that are yet to qualify for Test or ODI status.

The 5 countries that qualified this time were : Scotland, Ireland, Netherlands, Canada & Bermuda. Scotland, Netherlands and Canada have all played in world cups previously, whilst Bermuda and Ireland are making their World Cup debuts.
