That would be going too far. Like others say, she was a contributing factor in that she symbolized lavish spending and was also despised by many for her Austrian origins. The real causes went much further back, having to do with great national debt and rising but frustrated ambitions of the middle class. Thomas Carlyle called Marie Antoinette “the only man in France”, and had she been in power rather than her vacillating husband maybe she would have been better known as the one who put the brakes on the revolution rather than contributing to it.

marie antoinette was not the cause of the french revolution the probelm started long before she and her husband came to the throne of france.the main thing thing that started when the privouse king poured money in to the war of inderpandence between England and U.S

No, her husbands politics and greed were. She was a trapping - another bauble on his arm. She represented careless spending in a time of great strife for the people of France. Although she was not the cause of the revolution, she certainly didnt help to delay it, and Im sure the French were delighted to behead her!

Its been awhile because of the fact I took international historic previous, yet from what I keep in mind she did spend a variety of of money on herself and starved the human beings for a number of years. I heard she replace into fairly boring too lol

absolutely not but she received criticism because she was in a place of power and refused to do something about the fact that so many people were living in destitute.
it was apparent that the royalty held all the wealth and she had no problems with it and in response to their poverty said the ever so famous: "let them eat cake"
