I have been married to my wife for 3 years...and have been dating her for several more. We have always been close, however, neither of us have ever witnessed the other performing a defacation (number 2) in the rest room.

We've passed gas in front of each other, however the other night I was taking a shower and she really had to go. The sounds I witnessed with her on the toilet while I was in the shower were HORRIFYING to say the least. I've always looked upon her as a clean, sensible woman however after this performance I think I'm mortified.

I don't think there is a need to go into details of the sounds, but lets just say her grunts, flatulence and overall power of the defication hitting the toilet water has caused me a great deal of disgust.

How to I look at her and more importantly live with her when all I can picture in my mind is this incident???

When I was at Cathoic school ( about 8yrs old ), I suddenly had a rude thought like that about the Virgin Mary and that she was Jesus mother so she had to go to the toilet.
I giggled and laughed my way through the day and was quite worried because the thought wouldnt go away.
I thought God was gonna be very mad.
Sorry Dude...It's warts and all.

Your wife could be suffering from Irritable Bowel Syndrome. It causes explosive diarrhea, fowl smelling flatulence and is very painful. It causes severe cramping, blood in the stool, etc. Perhaps instead of being disgusted with her, you should inquire regarding her health.

This could be a serious illness and she needs to be tested and treated.

If this one incident is the only thing that you can think of when you are with your wife that you have been with for 3+ years thats just sad!!!

Everyone goes to the bathroom...some people just have a harder time going than others!

I think you should move on...this shouldn't be holding you back!!!

For Valentines Day, get your wife some Beano and Ducolac --- anti-flatulent and stool softener respectively. Wrapped in the context of this day of love, how could she refuse? Your problem is solved.

What was that story I heard a few years ago?

Sure.. supermodels look great and everything but they potty and stink just like the rest of us. Get over it. It's a natural biological function. I'm sure she thinks you stink too.

Just tell her that you think that going to the bathroom should be kept in private. Let her know that you didn't like seeing her do number 2 and that it really bothered you. As long as she doesn't keep doing it...the image will eventually fade.

If you love her, get past this. There are worse things. I am sure there are many more men that make equally repulsive sounds...I know my husband does. Dont go by the bathroom dorr when she is in there.

Certain things should remain personal. Do you have two bathrooms? If not, then it was an isolated event and try to move on.

Grow up. She obviously wasn't feeling well and all you think about is yourself. Like you've never made any HORRIBLE noises in the bathroom.
