The law stating whether an employer must provide a worker with a lunch break or not?

Hey! I'm no "malingerer". I believe I'm 1/2 french and 1/2 german!!

Oddly enough I don't know whether to attack or surrender!!!

Look it up in Labor & Employment Law. I direct you to American Jurisprudence (2d), a wonderful legal encyclopaedia that can give you specific direction. There are both federal AND state laws on the issue. If I knew where you were located I could give you a lot more...

At the Federal level in the US, that law does not exists. At the state level or in other countries, you have to say where you are to get an accurate answer.
