We cannot fight terrorism, we can only kill terrorists, and or provide an environment that, in our minds, won't foster the development of terrorists or continue teaching a hateful idealogy.
Since this is true, what is the point of continueing to help a country which has been liberated and for the most part, set on its feet? Yes I realize that the Iraqi government has been lazy, and hopes cannot come to fruition if they continue having us help them as opposed to them helping themselves. I also realize that leaving would create more hate and foster an imperceptive society. Many believe that leaving is just a precursor to another terrorist attack. So which is the lesser of two evils? Leaving, or keeping troops safe as well as replenishing our funds?

I think we should leave... some might call that a cruel joke on the Iraqi people, but it seems clear to me that there are enough Iraqi people who are more interested in killing their enemies, whether real or perceived, that it is in our best interest to just let them. In a few months, when the country has collapsed into fuedal warlord driven sectarian violence and ethnic cleansing, we can alays go back in and overthrow whoever rises to the top if they are deemed a threat to Middle East stability or US interests. That's what the US military is good at, kicking the crap out of other armies, not baby sitting a nation full of ungrateful, backwards, hateful people who seem to want to self implode. I say we should stick to what we are good at.

We can win it militarily - we can not win politically though. Just as in Vietnam - our enemies have played us against each other. We could eliminate the terrorist - but we would end up killing many civilians - just like every other war throughout time. But now we have CNN and death does not play well on TV. We should bring the troops home - we are wasting our time - this civilized world has no stomach for war. This is the begining of the end of the US domination, both economically and politically.

The Iraqi's don't really want democracy. Sure some of them hated Saddam, but many of them didn't. Their world is a shambles and we are being blamed for it. Until they can step up and fight for their own cause, we are just spinning our wheels over there, losing one soldier after another and spending billions of dollars to our disadvantage. We should move out, build up our military and weapons here in America and be ready for their invasion when they come. Iran and Syria would just take over Iraq and then start working together to overpower the US. If we are the most powerful nation on earth, then I think we can come up with several good plans for combating the terriorists before they reach us. However, our lawmakers are to greedy with self-interest that they are willing to let the great America fall.

We can win if we resolve to. We can't win if we are unwilling to pay the price and make the effort. This is the real question: Is this war worth winning?
The people of the US do not seem convinced at this time.
I expect that within the next few years, they will be. And we will win.

The USA has lost only 1 war. Vietnam.
Why? They had nothing there that we wanted.
Oil, diamonds, etc.

Iraq has oil. So one way or another, we will win.
