It's a pity a lot more peoples heads don't fall off. Perhaps if all the people who think that this is a sick question got together and played Tug-o-War with your body we could rip your head off. When asked by the Law what happened we would say it just fell off Officer.

Hanging is the traditional death by their laws. He wasn't put to death by the US - he was turned over to his country.
Saddam Hussein's head didn't fall off - it was one of the two guys they just killed (either his brother or his high-ranking official) If it was his brother, they may have referred to him as Hussein so it's kind of confusing. (I heard it was just an accident. My bet is that the guy was overweight . . . don't know, but it would make sense to me.)
Hanging, by the way, can be horrible - we don't think that people DO die right away - which is why they started guillotining people in France - so it would be quicker.
