For the owner it's not bad. For the seller it's bad. It contains information that the owner might need. For it can list if it's fire resistant or has material that inflames allergies.

The purpose of the tag is to show that the mattress has never been used. This is a health issue. Once you purchase the mattress, you can remove the tag, but the tag has to remain while the mattress is in the store.

The warning on the tag is for the retailer, not the consumer. Rip it off.

It is illegal to remove a tag from a mattress before it is sold. You can rip one off after you buy it.
