My 6 months old son has pooped 3 times today. He usually only goes once a day. It was not watery, but fairly solid and soft. No fever but he is grumpy and fussy. I noticed to bumps under his gums. They don't look red or inflamed, but could the pooping be because he is teething?

Some people say that an increase in dirty diapers is a symptom of teething, others say it's unrelated. In truth, teething babies produce more saliva than usual because of the teeth coming in. This can increase the number of dirty diapers. :)

My 9-month-old has 3 new teeth coming in and she's going more than usual, too.

As long as what you're feeding the baby hasn't changed and he doesn't seem to be struggling to "get it out," then it should't be a problem. But, if it does become excessively watery, you may need to take him to the doc (and get some electrolyte liquid like Pedialite for him).

Yes it could be from teething,or something he ate or drank like juice. If it is only been today, but bumpy gums are a good indicator of teething. Try teething tabs you can get them at Wal-Mart and they are all natural.

he could be. you can let him chew on a wet wash rag. my baby chewed on clean wrenches thats how she got her teeth in. usually teeth poop smells really sour and they get fevers.
